Acme: Turn Customer Interviews into Product Insights

Acme turns customer interviews into clear product insights for small SaaS teams. Import calls, tag themes and share findings in minutes.

Both fit: nothing is cut on desktop.

Widths are estimates of how results look today. Search engines sometimes rewrite a title or description, especially one that does not match the page.

How it works

  1. 1

    Type your title and description

Or paste the ones your page has now, with its address.

  2. 2

    See the result

The snippet is drawn at real result widths, cut where a search engine would cut it.

  3. 3

    Shorten what is cut

The notes say what is too long, too short or missing, for desktop and for phones.

Questions

How long should a title tag be?

About 50 to 60 characters, which fits in the roughly 600 pixels a desktop result gives a title. Wide letters such as W and M take more room than i or l, so the pixel width matters more than the count. This tool measures both.

How long should a meta description be?

About 120 to 160 characters. Desktop results show around 920 pixels of description over two lines, and phones show less. Put the key message in the first 120 characters so it survives on every screen.

Why is my title cut with three dots?

Results cut text that is wider than the space they have, after the last whole word that fits, and add an ellipsis. Shorten the title or move the important words to the front, and keep your brand name at the end.

Will search engines use exactly what I write?

Not always. Google and Bing sometimes rewrite a title or description, usually when it is missing, too long, stuffed with keywords or does not match what the page says. A clear, accurate one of the right length is the one most often kept.

Is anything I type sent to you?

No. The preview is drawn in your browser with your own copy of the fonts results use, and nothing is sent to us.

Should the title include my brand?

Usually yes, at the end, after a dash or a vertical bar: "Pricing for small teams | Acme". On a site with a long brand name, keep it short or leave it off pages where room is tight.
