Cline is an open source coding agent that reads files, writes code and runs commands in your editor or terminal, with your approval at each step. It works with Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and local models through Ollama or LM Studio, so a solo developer pays only for the model usage. There is no subscription for the open source extension.
